In honor of Earth Day, D.C.'s professional women's soccer team, The Washington Freedom, is teaming up with COK to host TryVeg Day on Sun, April 18 at the Maryland SoccerPlex! In addition to concession stands featuring special veg-friendly options, we'll be on hand, staffing an information booth and distributing pro-veg materials—plus a portion of the proceeds from tickets sales generated through our website will be donated to help us help animals! Bread & Brew Goes Vegan on Earth Day & Launches Meatless Mondays
We're excited to announce that for the second year in a row, after working with COK, Bread & Brew is celebrating Earth Day by going 100% vegan on Thurs., April 22! This special event also doubles as a benefit for COK. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner (or all three!) and 10% of your bill will be automatically donated towards our farmed animal advocacy efforts.
The good news doesn't stop there: Immediately following this day-long vegan celebration, Bread & Brew is launching a Meatless Monday menu! That's right—starting on Mon., April 26, this popular Green Certified Restaurant is taking meat off its menu every Monday.

COK in Austin: Fête Accompli Goes Vegan to Celebrate Earth Day
Fête Accompli is a newly-opened restaurant in downtown Austin, and after meeting with COK, this eatery is excited to feature a special Vegan Day menu in honor of Earth Day! On Mon., April 19, Fête Accompli's menu will be 100% meat-, egg-, and dairy-free, featuring options such as peanut butter truffles, Thai peanut salad, and much more!

"A lawsuit alleging the U.S. egg industry conspired to increase consumer prices got a boost recently when a defendant turned over documents and internal memos that show an industry group called for egg producers to slow production. The lawsuit alleges that as egg prices climbed between 2004 and 2008, industry officials who blamed rising feed costs were covering up an orchestrated hen kill-off to reduce supplies."
